New Country, Fresh Start
*My first blog post! I'm super excited! Please bear with me as I'm still very new to this blogging thing. Okay, that's enough disclaimer tehehe..let's go!*
It's been almost eight months since I moved to South Korea, but it feels like it was just last week. Time surely is flying by way faster than I expected it to.
I was super nervous. Flying 14 hours with my dog. I've never done something like that before. Everything was so new to me, but I was so excited to end the current chapter of my life and start a new one.
Let's rewind. You're probably wondering "why did you move to South Korea?". Great question! I actually received a scholarship to study Korean for one year. I previously studied abroad in South Korea in 2019, but because of COVID (sigh), my study abroad adventures were cut short, and I was sent back to the U.S. Ever since that moment, I've been longing and working hard to make my way back to Korea (with my trip being fully paid for, hence the scholarship;)). I can't believe I'm really here, but I'm enjoying every moment. This country truly feels like my second home.
Anyway...back to the story. I won't go into too much detail, but I will try to highlight the main parts of moving across the world. So I was really worried about flying with my dog, Kakashi, because he doesn't do very well when he has to be in his travel crate for long periods of time. Shockingly, sweet man (Kashi's nickname, he has MANY) did such a fantastic job and slept almost the entire flight! But because I didn't prepare all of Kashi's documents before I left the U.S., he had to be quarantined until his results came back from the vet's office.
It was a long process and I missed Kashi so much during that time, but everything worked out the way it was supposed to. During the first three weeks after arriving to Korea, I was staying in a guesthouse. That's correct. I didn't have a place to live! That situation was so stressful, but I think I'll save that story for another blog.;)
That's all for this blog! I hope to catch you in my next post and thank you for following along!
